“God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.” This is no better explanation than when Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsename. God promised Jesus that He would be resurrected, but the passage to the cross was not calm. Luke 22:44 tells us he was in agony as He prayed. His sweat was as drops of blood. Then He was betrayed, put on trial, beaten, spit on, and scorned. Then He was crucified for our sins. I don’t believe I would call that a calm passage. But God promised a safe landing. No matter how hard it is to stay the course, our God will never leave or forsake us. You may experience a testing of your faith through a trial or tribulation, but the Lord is forever faithful is making sure you rise again. The path you walk in this world will not always be calm, but when it’s all said and done the ultimate landing will be in the hands of God.
