![]() Being an expert on insomnia, or I should say an expert of not falling asleep in a healthy manner. For years, I suffered with insomnia due to travelling at night. Travelling at night can help avoid the hustle and bustle of travelers during the day, but it will eventually mess up your sleep cycle. I have tried everything and in some sort of way trying to knock you out is technically not a healthy sleep. Michael Jackson thought that by knocking himself out with Propofol he was actually sleeping, but he wasn’t and we all know how that ended in a permanent sleep. Real sleep is falling asleep where the body is relaxed. Sounds normal right? It should be that way, but how many of you fall asleep, but still wake up stressed out? That was my kind of sleep, not fully relaxed but still stressed. The object of sleep is to fall asleep and stay asleep, then move into that deep REM sleep where the dreaming effect is triggered. Yes, dreaming is healthy and allows the body to regenerate when we get into a healthy deep sleep. I’m not going to go through every remedy I’ve ever tried as it would be the world’s longest blog review, but I did come across a really cool natural product called NAPZ. See, it even starts with a cool name. You read it and you know what it’s for, that is perfect marketing. NAPZ is a short-term sleep aid that consists of the herbs Passion Flower, Chamomile, Lemon Balm and Hibiscus. It is a powdered mix you add to water. Before I get into a further review, let’s look at the herbs found in NAPZ in detail. Passion Flower: I love this herb. Passion Flower actually helps the neurotransmitter Serotonin to last longer during the night, which will help you feel better the next day. When Serotonin levels are healthy, you are not depressed, but more positive and happier. I’m not saying NAPZ is an answer to depression, but my herbal education must tell you the great benefits of Passion Flower cannot be overlooked. Chamomile: We all know Chamomile can help one feel relaxed, but did you know Chamomile can help relieve a nervous stomach? This herb has an action upon the digestive tract. Ever gone to bed and felt a knot in your stomach because you were worried about the next day? Chamomile is your go-to herb. Chamomile is extremely safe and is a good remedy to help those who need to improve one’s sleep. Lemon Balm: Lemon balm is a member of the mint family and is considered a calming herb and it has been used for centuries to reduce anxiety, promote sleep and improve symptoms of indigestion. Lemon balm has been researched by experts and found to offer many great health benefits. Even a cream of Lemon Balm can help heal fever blisters. Hibiscus: This beautiful flower has a very long list of therapeutic properties such as the relief from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as digestive, immune system, and inflammatory problems. It helps to cure liver disease and reduces the risk of cancer. It can also speed up the metabolism and help in healthy, gradual weight loss (good healthy sleep prevents obesity and the research backs this statement). Hibiscus tea is rich in vitamin C, minerals and various antioxidants, while also helping in the treatment of hypertension and anxiety. We live in a world that just causes anxiety and Hibiscus is the go-to herb for anxiety. Since I gave you a free herbal lesson, let’s get to NAPZ. I opened the packet poured it in about 4-6oz of water. It’s a dark red color when mixed and it has a very pleasant taste which I’m sure is more from the Hibiscus. Upon drinking it, it was about 30 minutes when I fell asleep which is no easy task for me, since it can take me an hour or so before finally nodding off. Here’s where head hits pillow. The relaxing effect of NAPZ is the very thing I’ve been missing for years. When you haven’t felt relaxed in so long, you take notice when it actually happens. We’re a stressed-out-worried-society who can’t stay still and having that overall relaxed feeling while sleeping is like the Sandman finally arriving at your house to give you a good night sleep. Besides the wonderful relaxed feeling, I noticed (as did my wife) that I slept through the night without tossing and turning. And in the morning when it’s time to get up, there is no hangover effect. The label on the box of NAPZ says ‘Wake Up Refreshed!’ and it’s true to form. I don’t believe in using over-the-counter sleep aids or prescription drugs to fall asleep as nature always has a better answer. So take it from me, a professional insomniac or I should say after using NAPZ a retired professional insomniac, which this product is worth your attention for a complete relaxed restful night sleep. Give it a shot and I’d love to hear your NAPZ story. Go to www.napz.com for more information. by Ward W. Bond, PhD

I can't take anything with Melatonin, as it aggravated my chronic depression, and even some of the other herbal formulas make me groggy the next day, which doesn't help as I have chronic fatigue! I love NAPZ. I've had NO negative side effects from it after going thru 2 bottles. I don't take it every night, but often need it to relax and get to sleep.

That's fantastic! Yes, melatonin will aggravate depression and should be avoided. So happy the NAPZ is working for you!

Hello Dorothy, Yes you can. If you have a hard time going to sleep, try taking Borage Oil with 240mg of GLA. Take two half hour before bed. Also, Tranquil Sleep by Natural Factors is very good too. Avoid all sugar products after 6pm as well as caffeine which delays the melatonin release from the pineal gland in the brain responsible for helping us fall asleep.

My journey with insomnia started after I was put on BP that side effects was insomnia, I’m now off it but after struggling on the medicine for a year, I now have the lingering curse of insomnia. I’ve tried a lot of remedies with no improvement. Enter Napz ... I took two capsules the first night while reading in bed and slept 6 hours straight which was a miricale. Hoping to repeat the next night but unfortunately did not stay asleep. I wanted to take another pill, because I’ve read reviews where people are taking 3 pills instead of 2 as recommended on the bottle, Is there no harm in taking more than 2 Napz pills

Taking 3 capsules should be fine as the herbs are very mild in their action can be taken during day for stress.

Go to Napz.com, but I'm wondering if they are out of business. Go the site and send them an email.
