ESSENTIAL OILS, AROMATHERAPY & CANCER

Essential oils have been around since the beginning of time.  Throughout history, essential oils were used to cure diseases, relieve symptoms, and help people feel better after long illnesses. They are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants and have amazing medicinal properties.
However, when some people think of essential oils, they may turn up their nose.  Due to the Flexner Report of 1910 and the alliance between “Big Business” and the AMA, no longer are oils a crucial part of the medical curriculum.
As medicine continues to focus on drugs, prescribing a “pill for every ill,” proven remedies and traditions are falling by the wayside, and essential oils have lost some of their popularity.
Cancer patients have started a new resurgence in essential oils.  Through aromatherapy, many cancer patients have found relief from the dire effects of chemotherapy and those caused by their illness.  They utilize aromatherapy techniques during their recovery. And as you’ll see at the end of the article, they may even use essential oil as a treatment.

What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a natural modality that can help patients cope with chronic pain, nausea, stress, and depression.  It also has been used to stimulate the immune system, fight off bacterial infections, increase circulation, alleviate headaches, soothe sore muscles, and help you sleep at night.  Each oil is promoted to have specific health benefits, so patients must find the right oils for their health concerns.
Common essential oils used in aromatherapy and their health benefits include:
  • Lavender is used to relieve stress, treat depression, reduce inflammation, and act as a natural decongestant.
  • Eucalyptus can fight migraines, fevers, respiratory issues, and bacterial infections.
  • Chamomile is a soothing essential oil that has antibacterial properties and can reduce inflammation and chronic pain.
  • Bergamot is used to treat stress, anxiety, depression, skin infections, and fatigue.
  • Peppermint is a stimulant that can sharpen your focus, enhance your mental alertness, and boost your energy.
These essential oils, and many more, can be used to help alleviate some of the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of allopathic cancer treatments like chemotherapy.

How is Aromatherapy Used to Help Patients Recover from Cancer?
Aromatherapy can be self-administered or administered by a professional.  Many aroma therapists found in the United States are also massage therapists, psychologists, chiropractors, or social workers.
They may use the oils in their practices to help relieve some of their patients’ pain and enhance their quality of life.  In the United States, you can buy the oils and a home diffuser yourself in order to self-administer your aromatherapy treatments.

Essential oils can be used individually or combined for maximum benefits.
Everyone has a unique body chemistry, so different oils may work differently on unique individuals.  For this reason, aromatherapy may take time to improve your symptoms.  You may need to try numerous oils and oil combinations before finding an oil or a combination of oils that truly works for you.

Once you find the right oils, they can be applied to your skin or inhaled.  For inhalation purposes, a home diffuser can be purchased.  A home diffuser utilizes water to humidify your home and add essential oils to your environment.
You may also add a few drops of essential oils to a steaming pot of water or to your shower each day in order to vaporize the oils and inhale them.

If essential oils are applied directly to your skin, then they may need to be applied along with a carrier oil.  Olive oil and coconut oil are both great carrier oils that can soak up the essential oils and help your body to absorb them properly.  You can also make your own creams or salves that contain essential oils to use on your sore muscles or any areas of your body that are painful.

What About Frankincense?
This article wouldn’t be complete without mentioning frankincense, which is an oleo gum resin from Boswellia trees, of which there are over 25 species. Arabs called the milky sap of the Boswellia tree “al lubn” meaning “milk.” Al lubn became anglicized to olibanum, which is another name for frankincense. When burned, frankincense produces a brilliant flame and produces a pleasant aroma. For over 5,000 years frankincense (aka “boswellia serrata”) has been used to support the immune system, fight infection and cure diseases. Yes, even cancer!

The oleo gum resin of frankincense contains four major pentacyclic triterpenic acids, referred to as boswellic acids. Studies have shown that boswellic acids have an anti-inflammatory action much like conventional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). This being so, they have been found to be highly effective in such conditions as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, colitis, Crohn’s disease, and asthma.  Recently, a few studies showed that boswellic acids may have anti-cancer effect on leukemia and brain tumors.

Researchers at Virginia Tech’s college of veterinary medicine recently discovered that frankincense is effective at treating skin cancer in horses. Frankincense is “carrier oil” in that it penetrates membranes and cell walls. It is one of the few substances known to cross the blood barrier. A cancerous cell wall loses its ability to transfer substances across the membrane. Therefore, not all herbs or medications can effect a cancerous cell. However, “carrier” agents like frankincense, DMSO, and very alkaline minerals like cesium are highly penetrable across the membranes and have the opportunity to act on a cancerous cell or a brain tissue that is separated by the blood brain barrier.

A 2013 study by University of Leicester researchers indicated that frankincense contains a compound AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) that targets cancer cells, including ovarian, brain, breast, colon, pancreatic, prostate, and stomach cancers. According to researchers out of Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, frankincense helps regulate the cellular epigenetic machinery, which highlights its ability to influence genes to promote healing.

As you can see, the uses of frankincense are so numerous that it can accurately be described as a panacea, used for everything from colds to cancers. The general functions of frankincense resin and essential oil can therefore be described as immune-enhancing; antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral, and antiseptic. And as we have seen, frankincense also heals wounds and has distinct anti-inflammatory properties.

Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid: Skin Healing & Natural Joint Pain Relief

For those of you who want to reduce the the effects of aging and possibly reverse the signs of aging, I got incredible information for you today. When we age, the most common complaints are pain, looking older and slow healing. A few years ago researchers visited Yuzurihara, known as the “village of long life,” and televised what amazed television audiences worldwide. Here were people living to advanced ages without wrinkles, without the typical age-related diseases and maintaining active lifestyles. Some adults, even life-long smokers who had worked in the outdoors exposed to sunlight all their lives, had virtually no wrinkles. There has never been a recorded case of skin cancer in Yuzurihara. Health authorities attribute this youthfulness to the unique diet in Yuzurihara.  What was the secret of that diet? Do the initials “HA” have significance? They should.

The “secret” may be the secret of long life itself. There are ten times more people living beyond the age of 80 in Yuzurihara than in any town in the USA. According to the World Health Organization, the longest-lived people in the world live in Japan … and Yuzurihara is heads above 990 Japanese villages and towns surveyed in longevity.

Hyaluronic Acid, better known as HA, is a unique oral hyaluronic acid preparation essential for maintaining skin, joint, and eye health. The benefits of supplementing the body’s own production of hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate the skin and to protect joints are well demonstrated. HA also shows great potential as an anti-aging agent and as a compound that can help maintain proper immune system functioning.

While most HA products work externally (on a superficial level) NLHA works internally, providing moisture to the inner layers of the epidermis. By reaching the corium layers of the epidermis, you penetrate, like no topical application is able to. This provides essential HA components to the cell level where it can work effectively.

HA’s ability to retain water and moisture makes it a popular ingredient in high-end cosmetic moisturizers. It also supports the formation and maintenance of collagen, an important connective tissue. Collagen degradation is believed to cause a decrease in skin tone and elasticity.

Despite the fact that most tissues in the human body regenerate at varying rates, over time there are observable signs of aging. The skin begins to wrinkle, the joints stiffen, the eyes become weak and require the aid of glasses to focus, and the voice begins to become raspy and guttural. There are internal changes caused by aging as well, as blood vessels begin to weaken and lose flexibility, the brain shrinks in the cranium, the eyes sink in their sockets, and the entire body loses about an inch or more in height with advancing age. Scientists believe that there is a common denominator involved in aging – the loss of connective tissue, the “space filler” that supports living cells. Scientific attention is logically focused upon hyaluronic acid, a unique molecule in the human body.

HA is found in every tissue of the body. It is present in particularly high concentrations in the synovial fluid that lubricates the joints, in heart valve tissue, in the fluids of the inner ear, in many layers of the skin, especially the dermis, and in the vitreous humor of the eyes.

HA occupies the extracellular matrix (the space between living cells). HA is the body’s “mortar.” HA has adhesive properties and is akin to the mortar that holds bricks together. HA is interwoven with type II collagen, proteins, and proteoglycans in the extracellular space, which gives form and structure to tissues. About 3000 milligrams of HA is produced daily in the human body by specialized cells called fibroblasts. More HA is produced during wound healing.

While HA is found throughout the body, there are particularly high HA levels in the skin, eyes and joints, the very structures that exhibit external signs of aging. The concentration of HA in living human tissues declines over time. In youth the skin has high levels of HA which produces scarless wound healing. The scrapes, cuts and abrasions of childhood are not permanent because of HA.

But then there’s beauty from the inside out. Healthy, youthful skin and joints come from the inside. By replacing the components that naturally deplete with age, we actually can reverse the signs associated with aging. This treatment involves putting back in what is naturally lost to restore radiance and youth. Moisture is vital to good skin. The ability to retain and hold moisture is the secret to youthful, healthy, vibrant skin. Aging robs us of this innate ability to hold in moisture. Nutritional Living now brings you NLHA, the secret of retaining a vital component of youthful complexion, water.

NLHA is the oral ingested raw material of Hyaluronan called Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA is highly “hygroscopic”; it’s essential to maintaining fluid balance within cells and is depleted at great amounts as we age. This precious nutrient can at last be replaced through oral supplementation.

Here are some facts to know about HA in the skin:
50% of the total amount of HA is found in the skin.
HA helps to transport nourishing molecules to the outer layers of the skin.
HA helps to eliminate pollutants and metabolic waste products from the upper cells.
HA also plays a role in helping to regulate the life cycle of skin cells.
HA may show promise for Psoriasis, Eczema and Rosacea sufferers.
HA may possibly help to protect the skin by scavenging free radicals generated by ultraviolet light.
Injuv, as an internal cosmetic agent, helps to increase skin moisture, smoothness, and firmness.
Injuv is like internal cosmetic surgery in a bottle.

HA for Joint Health:
As a corollary to our aging population, the decrease in joint health is becoming a common occurrence. While there are many prescription alternatives to treat this condition, there are fewer natural therapies that have been shown to be effective in supporting joint health. The application of a HA rich supplements is a strategic move towards natural therapies beneficial to joint support.

Current research into osteoarthritis and pain show positive results in the treatment of joint pain and cartilage formation with Hyaluronic acid. Through viscosupplementation, patients experienced a decrease in pain; improved range of motion, and genuine repair to damaged connective tissues.

The theory involves the ability of HA to control the production or disengagement of pain substances or possibly depress pain stimulation brought about by an interaction with endogenous pain substances.

Facts to know about HA in joints and soft tissues:
HA is one of the best lubricants and shock absorbers found in nature.
HA stimulates the growth of cartilage in joints.
HA suppresses PGE2 production to stop pain and inflammation of joints, because it helps to hydrate and lubricate the synovial cell membrane.
HA provides antioxidant support to help prevent and reduce inflammation directly.
HA is useful for Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and other connective tissue disorders.
HA lubricates heart valves for improved function.
HA may reduce the need for steroids and other anti-inflammatory medications for arthritis.
HA helps restore joint mobility and alleviate pain associated with arthritis or age.

For those who suffer from interstitial cystitis, a cause which is unknown. What we know about now is the bladder lining has holes in it. This causes the hyaluronic acid behind the lining to leak out into the urine, thus causing inflammation, incontinence, and tremendous pain.

Urinary hyaluronic acid was higher in interstitial cystitis patients than healthy controls. Since bladder hyaluronic acid is below the epithelium, this finding may indicate leakage across the epithelium into the urine in interstitial cystitis patients.

In one study, an initial positive response of 56% at week 4 increased to 71% by week 12. This response was maintained by week 20. There was no significant toxicity attributable to the presence of HA in the bladder.

The response of refractory IC patients to the intravesical administration of HA was gratifying. In the past, many therapies for IC that were initially considered promising failed the test of a controlled study. This shows there is substantial promise for those suffering from interstitial cystitis.

Just as the first discovery of HA came from research into the structure of the eyes, so the first medical application of HA for humans was as a vitreous supplement/replacement during eye surgery. In addition to all of the wonderful polymeric properties of HA, there is another essential property of HA which makes it ideal for treating various conditions of the eye. Specifically, HA is optically clear.

The vitreous is the material that fills the space between the lens and the retina. It is a stable gel containing a large amount of HA. HA along with water (about 99% of the total volume of vitreous is water) forms the bulk of the vitreous. Thin collagen fibrils give structure and rigidity to the water/HA complex with substances known as glycosaminoglycans separating the fibers. HA seems to also help keep the fibers from bunching up or aggregating and forming visible aberrations in the vitreous.

HA is also found on the surface of the eye and is often used as a lubricant for the corneal epithelium. In addition, HA helps in the growth and migration of cells across the cornea that is an important part of wound healing and eye tissue regeneration.

Conventional medicine has not overlooked hyaluronic acid. HA has been used as a lubricant in eye surgery for over a decade. Dermatologists now inject high-molecular weight HA into the skin to reduce wrinkles. Orthopedists inject high-molecular weight HA into knee, shoulder, sacroiliac, intervertebral discs and the TM joint to reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis. The success rate of injectable HA in relieving joint problems is about 80 percent. HA is now being used in prescription eye drops, in skin preparations and to prevent adhesions following surgery. So the HA revolution is under way.

Product Review: SIKK Shades Eyewear by Eddie Bauer, Jr

PictureWard Bond, PhD with SIKK Shades Qualifiers
There are so many things that can benefit our health and why not sunglasses! Not all sunglasses are created equal and I always wear them when I go outside on bright sunny Texas days, which is most of the time. Being an avid sunglass wearer for eye protection as well as style, I was introduced to a company called SIKK Shades. Most of their clientele is from the sports world such as professional surfers, skateboarders and even NASCAR drivers. I wanted to find out will these sunglasses benefit a normal person like me who only sees the extreme sport of driving through Houston traffic and those long driving trips I take across the desert in west Texas and beyond.

SIKK Shades, a company founded by Eddie Bauer, Jr who spent an enormous time and effort in creating a real lens to protect the eyes and of course with style in mind. But what makes Sikk Shades eyewear different than the other million sunglass companies on the planet?

First, let’s talk about the polarized lens other companies use in their product. Much of what I personally know from personal experience and that many of the polarized lenses on the market aren’t polarized at all! I’ve spent a few hundred dollars on what I was told was polarized and when I went outside, I knew something wasn’t right. I needed a lens to protect my eyesight and give me the clarity as well as prevent eye fatigue from all the long hours of driving I do on America’s open roads as well as filming outdoors. Many of the so-called top brands are doing nothing more than selling overpriced plastic tinted lenses that aren’t truly polarized at all, either way polarized isn’t healthy for your vision.

When it comes to polarized lenses, people have reported dizziness, nausea, eye fatigue, and headaches as a result of wearing polarized sunglasses. Other lenses, including many polarized, can block too much of the good light necessary for proper vision, tricking the eyes, resulting in dilated pupils which in the sun is a very bad thing! Having bigger pupils mean that more harmful radiation can enter your eyes and causes retinal damage and deteriorating vision.

Now, let’s talk about SIKK Shades Flash Electric™ Lens Technology for eye protection. Their Flash Electric™ lenses act as filters that block more bad (short wave) light and allow more good (long wave) light to come in, cutting glare as well as polarized, but without all the prism effects, distance skews, and distortions experienced with some polarized lenses.

I have two pairs of SIKK Shades, the Huckleberry and the Qualifier. The Huckleberry is more like your Wayfarer, but a tad bit oversized to give you a bigger window of protection. The Qualifier is very sporty with a wrap around design. Both I like when it comes to style, but the secret is in the lens.

THE TEST: The only way to truly test sunglasses is to wear them on a bright sunny day and wear them all day, so I did. Due to my filming for my television show and other film projects we are working on, I had the perfect chance to put SIKK Shades to the test. We had a weekend in which was going to place us filming outdoors for three days in the Texas sun. Our three day film shoot comprised of both land and sea, yes we spent some time on a boat and when that happens you get the sun from the sky and its reflection upon the open water which can be blinding at times. I wore the Qualifiers the first day and what I experienced at the end of the day was I did not experience any headaches from the bright sunlight and my eyes never became fatigue as they would have with other sunglasses that I own. On day two, which consisted the open water and the SIKK Shades are the bomb! Never had any glare from the water and it made filming easier because we were able to see what we were actually doing as my film director and crew were wearing SIKK Shades too! I wore the Huckleberry on the second day and the same thing happened as my eyes never fatigued. At the end of the day, we discussed our experiences with the sunglasses and we were all convinced that SIKK Shades is the only company that got the lens correct. Both styles are very comfortable on the face with no discomfort on the ears or the bridge of the nose.

We should all value our eyesight and as we become older we value it even more. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, but in this case SIKK Shades is the most affordable, stylish and protective outdoor eyewear available on the market today. I’ve been wearing them for the last year and I won’t wear anything else!

MACA: Nature's Hormonal Replacement Therapy

5/13/2016

Picture
The bad, the ugly and the horror of Hormonal Replacement Therapy. Based on the important research of Dr. Chacon, more and more doctors are using Maca Root instead of Hormone Replacement Therapy. Of course, HRT has been the medical field’s answer to hormonal imbalances for years. I think a better word for HRT should be hormonal deregulation. HRT is shown to shut down the glands that naturally produce hormones.

You may say, “That doesn’t make sense.”  But listen to this: Dr. Jorge Malaspina, respected cardiologist, explains: “Replacement hormones circulating in the endocrine system send a message to the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus that it’s already produced a sufficient quantity of hormones in the body. You can imagine what happens next  -- they stop producing hormones. Or look at it this way – the pituitary gland shuts down.” When our hormones become imbalanced, havoc breaks loose on our system. If our Endocrine System starts failing, we can suffer from depression, our sexual drive goes down the tubes, and we experience drastic skin changes, weakness, fatigue, obesity, diabetes, decreased hormonal levels, hyperthyroidism, and hypothyroidism and menopausal dysfunctions.

Dr. Malaspina goes on to say: “When menopause arrives, the ovaries are atrophied and don’t produce the estrogen and progesterone which the body requires to function.” For this reason, he states: “I encourage women to start using Maca before menopause. It seems to help the endocrine system to stay in balance.”
Maca keeps your hormones balanced and your age a secret. American Physician Gabriel Cousens, an internist from Patagonia, Arizona, is a wholehearted believer that the Maca Root is the key to counteract the effects of aging on the endocrine system.

Here’s why: Dr. Cousens states that, “Whenever possible, I prefer to use Maca Therapy rather than Hormone Replacement Therapy. HRT has actually been shown to age the body by diminishing the hormone producing capability of the glands.” He goes on the say that: “Maca has proved to be extremely effective with menopausal patients as well, by eliminating hot flashes, depression, and giving the patient higher energy levels.”

For men: Maca counteracts difficulties with erectile dysfunction they may experience as they age. Your answer to sexual enhancement. An added bonus for all of us: Maca is truly a sex-enhancing food. The alkaloids in Maca work on the hypothalamus-pituitary axis. Science has now shown us what the Peruvians have known for centuries: the glucosinates and amino acid L-arginine found in Maca stimulate sexual desire in both men and women.  For men, it holds incredible curative powers for relieving erectile dysfunction and reviving sexual abilities and stamina (making a 60-year old feel like a teenager again; and for women – well, of course, it eases hormone irregularities, adds much-needed moisture, and muscle tone, besides which, it bestows a huge calming effect.

Maca as an adjunct to whole health treatments. Another example is Dr. Harold Clark’s work in New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Clark uses a number of natural therapies such as chelation therapy and ozone therapy in addition to herbs, vitamins, and minerals in his practice. But he was absolutely amazed by how fast Maca root worked, specifically, on two of his patients.

One 55-year-old postmenopausal woman had numerous health problems, including elevated blood sugar levels, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and low magnesium levels. She’d been ill for two months with osteomyelitis (an infection of the bone), usually caused by microbial agents. Unable to work, she was suffering from great fatigue and depression and feeling worse and worse over the last five years. Within four days of taking the Maca powder, she went through an enormous turnaround. She’s gone out to shop in the stores, she’s cleaning her house, and she feels strong and vital and part of the human race again. Most women find that Maca Root is on an entirely different level when it comes to its effectiveness. They’ve found that phytoestrogen herbs like black cohosh and licorice roots are not on pare with Maca Root.

Maca’s fight against anemia, menopause, impotence, sterility, premature aging, weakness and chronic fatigue. Dr. Jorge Calderon, Internist and former Chief of the Department of Biological Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine at the National University of Federico Villarreal in Lima, Peru, is a pioneer in the therapeutic applications of the Maca Root. He’s found that Maca, along with prescribing an excellent diet and certain lifestyle changes, helps male impotency, male and female sterility, and chronic fatigue. Besides the traditional uses for Maca Root, he’s found that Maca’s curative properties treat rickets, anemia, osteoporosis, and bone fractures.
Beware – HRT might be dangerous for women with breast implants. Dr. Hugo Malaspina, a well-respected cardiologist, found that Maca was the treatment of choice for women who have had breast augmentation. A case in point: His 49-year old patient had a hysterectomy 9 years prior. Although she still had her ovaries, she began to have menopausal symptoms.  Because she had breast implants, the usual hormone replacement therapy wasn’t an option. He started her on Maca Root and within three months the depression, constipation, and hot flashes cleared up completely.

Early onset menopause due to hysterectomies. This deserves special note because there are over one million women in the U.S. alone who have undergone complete hysterectomies who no longer have their ovaries.
In a past interview Dr. Malaspina was cited as saying: “Because so many women have had their ovaries taken out – they’re told that hormone replacement therapy is a necessity (which only benefits the pharmaceutical companies).  Not true: Women go into early onset menopause – and rapidly. The Maca Root should be mentioned as one of the best and danger-free supplements for the symptoms of early onset menopause.”
Help for sufferers of Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism. Another huge accolade for Maca is the effect it has on balancing our adrenals. Dr. Henry Campanile offers adrenal balancing therapy in his practice. His therapy is based around the medicinal properties of the Maca Root because of its balancing and nourishing effects on the adrenal glands.  Maca is an extremely rich source for its minerals and iodine, which is vital for the regulating the Endocrine System due to its effect on balancing the thyroid gland.

Give the control back to Nature. It’s conclusive – we all grow old. The ups and downs of our hormones are a vicious cycle, and a part of growing older. Unfortunately for us, our Western culture believes we can improve what nature so bounteously provides us. Our food sources have been destroyed, with hydroponics, sugars, additives, chemicals, preservatives, and hormones we put in our bodies everyday. Because of this, the reality is we need additional help to get our glands working again. By supplementing with the most natural form of hormone balancing, we can keep these imbalances from sending our bodies into a state of confusion.

Nature’s limitless ability to renew us with this of medicinal and nutritional plant is frankly awe-inspiring. Something I haven’t done before when talking about Maca is its nutritional makeup, which I want to cover now. Maca contains:
Vitamins: B1, B2, and C.

Vitamin B1 helps the body's cells convert carbohydrates into energy. It is also essential for hte functioning of the heart, muscles, and nervous system.

B2 works with the other B vitamins. It is important for body growth and red cell production, and helps in releasing energy from carbohydrates.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is involved in oxidation-reduction reactions.
Alkaloids: 4 novel alkaloids: macaina 1, 2, 3, and 4. These are responsible for activating hormone regulators located in the brain that in turn regulate the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus in the blood.
Macronutrients: Essential vitamins and minerals, nutritive properties help convalescent people or patients who are diagnosed with anemia.

Proteins: Rich in bio-available maca proteins with an average of 11grams in the dry root.
Micronutrients: Minerals which help with the production of antibodies.

Fiber: Loaded with cellulose and lignin which stimulate intestinal operations. Investigators claim fibers such as these diminishes the risk of cancer of the large intestine by helping the organism eliminate waste and toxins produced within the body.

Carbohydrates: Rich in quality carbs; combined with the alkaloids and other nutrients is the source for sustainable energy.

Tannins: Useful in treatment of diarrhea. Combined with other medicines, it has the utility of treating inflammatory processes like ulcers, sores, etc.

Fatty Acids: Contains over 20 fatty acids

Calcium: Higher concentrations of calcium than in milk; indispensible for the nerves and circulatory system and the formation of bones, teeth, and vital heart functions.

Potassium: Needed for proper thyroid function and reducing excess water weight.

Zinc: Serves as a cofactor of dehydrogenises and carbonic anhydrite; its lack can cause skin rashes, taste disturbances, and mental tiredness.

Phosphorus: Regulates the transmission of neuromuscular chemicals and electrical stimuli. Important for the hemostasis of calcium and the reactions of lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins. The body's chemical energy is stored in phosphate compounds.

Silica: Helps the connective tissues, including the aorta, trachea, tendons, bones, and skin.

Magnesium: Essential for protein synthesis, and activities of muscles and nerves. Deficiency of quality magnesium can cause changes in heart and skeletal muscles.

When buying Maca, buy the highest quality and from a reputable company. Maca's prices have skyrocket in the past couple of years due to instability in the farming regions of Peru.

Product Review UPDATE: Peak Energy - Reaching for the Peak!

5/10/2016

Picture
How many you drag yourselves out of bed? How many of need to be kicked out the front door just to go to work, because your get up and go hasn’t shown up yet? How many want to exercise, but you lack the energy and stamina to do it? The number of people are in the millions who feel a lack of energy every day. They consume millions of gallons of coffee, energy drinks, herbs, vitamins and never seem to get the picker-upper they need.

If many of you are like me, you stay up later than you should working or trying to wind down from a busy day. I came in contact with a product called Peak Energy. This is a tablet consisting Vitamins B3, B6, B12, Pantothenic Acid (B5), D-Ribose and a touch of caffeine. Now, I take a multiple vitamin/mineral everyday as we all should, but this isn’t a multiple vitamin, this is about energy. All of these nutriens target the health of the nervous system and the brain. D-Ribose focuses on your muscular energy and is the cellular spark many people never experience, but I’ll explain in a minute.

Let me give you an example. I host a TV show called Think  Natural and we have to film on a regular basis, mostly on location. It’s all about getting up early, getting mentality prepared, bright eyed and ready to step in front of the camera full of energy. There were days in the past when the energy wasn’t there, but now I have Peak Energy. On a recent film shoot, I had two boxes of Peak Energy in mint and orange cream flavor. I shared them with the crew and I only gave them one tablet at a time to see what their results would be. After a few hours, I asked them how they felt and every single crew member said the same thing, “There’s no crash, you just want to keep going.” No nervousness, no hyperactivity, just pure feel-good energy. The type of energy you desire when you wake up in the morning from a good night’s sleep. Everyone of them asked for Peak Energy everyday afterwards.

Peak Energy gives you that clear mental energy as well as physical energy and they're perfect for getting up in the morning and shaking off the sleepies. Need that extra kick out of your exercise routine without overloading on pre-workout powder? Peak Energy is the answer. When your exercise is over, you aren’t fatigued!

Now about D-Ribose. We are born with this nutrient as it’s the very molecule we must have to energize our heart and muscles. Without it, we are basically alive with rigor mortis and many of you who lack the healthy energy feel dead inside and need that spark. D-Ribose can be difficult to replenish within our bodies because such a small amount is made and our bodies need more than we can make. So supplementing with D-Ribose has given many people their energy back and in many cases given them their lives back. D-Ribose helps your muscles to contract and relax properly, improving your whole way of life.

I just took a 1700 mile road trip and used Peak Energy and I was never fatigued for the 12 hour drive in both directions. I now keep a few packets in my glovebox when I may need an extra boost of energy. I even take them before every lecture I give to stay energetic before and after the lecture.

Whether you’re a business person, athlete, student or senior, Peak Energy gives you superior energy with no crash.
