![]() Dr. Bond will be interviewing Nashville recording artist (former American Idol) Danny Gokey this Thursday, November 22, 2012. Danny and Dr. Bond sit down to discuss his humble beginnings, overcoming his wife's unexpected passing and becoming a favorite of millions of fans as a Top 3 finalist on Season Eight of American Idol. Danny takes Dr. Bond on tour of his 77,000 sq ft facility of Sophia's Heart Foundation. The organization’s goal is to provide hope and help to homeless families, single mothers and human trafficking victims. In 2010, Gokey released his debut album, My Best Days, which delivered the best first-week sales of any debut country male in 18 years and included the hits “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me” and “I Will Not Say Goodbye.” He is also the founder of Sophia’s Heart Foundation in honor of his late wife. Danny is currently writing songs for a new album release in 2013. www.dannygokey.com and www.sophiasheart.org For those of you who have never had the opportunity to meet Danny Gokey, here is my personal story. We arrived at his foundation Sophia's Heart in Nashville, TN to film our interview.. SH a 77,000 sq ft building which was a former regional hospital and this place is big! So much room to fulfill the mission of helping so many people from different walks of life as well as his plans to help children learn the arts. Danny and his lovely wife Leyicet, (they make a very lovely couple) who are expecting their first child in January. I'm going to cut to the chase here, Danny is guy who is very friendly and knows who his God is. He has the biggest heart for people and doesn't let fame and stardom go to his head. It is great to meet people with celebrity status who don't act like the world revolves around them. Danny is hands on when it comes to Sophia's Heart. After our interview, he took me on a complete tour of Sophia's Heart explaining the work that needs to be done to the building as well as his dreams and desires for each section of the building to meet the needs of families, youth and those who have escape sex trafficking. He took me downstairs to a series of rooms that will be part of the arts department which will incorporate music, art, videography and graphic design. He has big plans and it will take many to make this happen. And we aim to part of Danny's foundation to bring a helping hand to humanity. I feel I have a friend in Danny and I do. I love to see the heart of people who let God guide them to help others. So when you go out and buy Danny's next album, be assured that behind the great voice is a heart bigger than the Grand Canyon and a heart that is full of God's love for his brothers and sisters in need.
